Digital Capacity Management Webinar

The implementation of Regulation (EU) 2026/1184 on the use of railway infrastructure capacity marks a significant step towards a more efficient and coordinated European railway network.

To support Applicants in preparing for the upcoming operational and digital changes, RailNetEurope (RNE) is organising a dedicated Digital Capacity Management Webinar on 7 October 2026.

Digital Capacity Management Webinar

The implementation of the recently published Regulation (EU) 2026/1184 on the use of railway infrastructure capacity in the Single European Railway Area requires close cooperation between Infrastructure Managers and Applicants. While Infrastructure Managers have already started implementing several elements of the new framework, successful deployment will also depend on Applicants being prepared for the upcoming operational and IT-related changes.

To support this transition, RailNetEurope (RNE) is organising a Digital Capacity Management (DCM) Webinar, specifically tailored for Applicants and Applicant Associations. Infrastructure Managers and other interested stakeholders are also invited to participate.

The webinar will provide practical guidance on:

  • The role of Applicants in implementing Chapter II (Management of Railway Infrastructure Capacity) of the Capacity Regulation
  • Key Digital Capacity Management components and workflows, including:
    • Capacity Planning Tool (CPT)
    • Path Coordination System (PCS)
    • Interfaces between systems
  • Implementation timelines, key milestones and the IT capabilities Applicants should consider when preparing for the new framework

The afternoon programme will include interactive breakout sessions, allowing participants to explore the tools in greater detail through live demonstrations:

🔹 Room A: CPT (Capacity Planning Tool), including interfaces
🔹 Room B: PCS (Path Coordination System), including interfaces

Both sessions will be recorded and made available afterwards via the RNE website.
