CORRIDOR TOOLS

On track with better, faster, clearer information

For an Applicant, an Infrastructure Manager or an Allocation Body,
digital real time information and coordination are fundamental
for an optimised freight train performance.
Here are the 7 tools you need to get right on track.

1. PATH COORDINATION SYSTEM

The PCS is an on-line platform where one can handle international path requests, path studies, path offers and path allocations for the Rail Freight Corridors – all without any paperwork.

This free-of-charge platform optimises international path coordination within the Rail Freight Corridors by ensuring each request or offer are made in a quick, secure and harmonised way by all involved parties - Railway Undertakings, Infrastructure Managers and Allocation Bodies

2. TRAIN INFORMATION SYSTEM

Every day at every hour there is a train on track going somewhere.
The TIS is a web application that supports your management by delivering real-time train data concerning international and freight trains, directly from each Infrastructure Managers’ systems.
RUs may here follow their trains and their partner’s trains throughout the several networks from start to end point.

5. TEMPORARY CAPACITY RESTRICTIONS TOOL

A plan detailing the expected TCRs, which will constraint traffic, is set by the Infrastructure Managers of the Atlantic Corridor. This plan is exercised through the Temporary Capacity Restrictions (TCR) tool, which supports its international coordination, and makes sure that all TCRs are standardized between the IMs. The TCR Tool makes all information on TCRs available in one place. The tool covers the planning period of the TCR, starting from 3 years ahead to 4 months before the timetable changes. It allows for safe and easy communication between all, allowing for a flexible system backed by European legislation.

6. RAIL FACILITIES PORTAL

The Rail Facilities Portal (RFP) is a web portal which allows easy access to information regarding rail service facilities.

In the RFP, operators of service facilities can promote and publish information about their facilities, while rail freight users can gather all the information in one place about the facilities needed to carry out their transport and logistic chains.

7. NETWORK AND CORRIDOR INFORMATION PORTAL

The Network and Corridor Information (NCI) Portal enables easy access to information published in Network Statements (NS) and Corridor Information Documents (CIDS) in one single platform. It is operated jointly by Infrastructure Managers, Allocation Bodies and Rail Freight Corridors.

In the NCI Portal, the user can not only search the content published in NS and CIDs but can also combine the information into a downloadable PDF file, facilitating analysis. It stores data from both current and upcoming timetables.

Combining all this information, will further enable rail costumers to adequately pre-plan procedures, by informing allowing costumers on network details, such as loading weight restrictions, clearance profile, special sections and requirements, and availability of command-and-control systems, such as ETCS. If your company is a freight forwarder, it will provide you the relevant data for you to inform your customers on the requirements freight needs to comply with in order to use rail.
